Great Final Presentations by students of the Model-Based Systems Engineering Class at Grenoble INP.
During the Class the students have received state-of-the-art knowledge about Systems Engineering and Systems Architecture, paving the way to modern product development practices through MBSE. For the hands-on experience, the students were trained on several best-in-class MBSE solutions, such as those provided by Capella, Dassault Systemes, and OPCloud. The Final Presentations were designed to deliver the System Models either for the Autoinjector case study or Robot case study, engaging both soft skills and hard skills. Advanced our core project on the edited book on Healthcare Systems Design Research and Practice, exchanged about each other’s work through short presentations, exchanged ideas through plenary discussions, and got a taste of the exciting range of healthcare research and projects going on in Cambridge through a series of keynote speeches. More details at the DESIGN Society's Special Interest Group on Health Systems Design webpage. Presented the paper entitled "Defining a New Role of System Architect at the Product Strategy Stage of a MedTech Product Development Through the DSM-Based Method" at the DSM Conference in Gothenburg (https://doi.org/10.35199/dsm2023.13). It was hosted by Chalmers University of Technology with the active participation of industrial partners. The Conference Proceedings are available here. Productive discussions and knowledge exchange at the 5th International Meeting on Health Systems Design Research (HSDR5) organized by the DESIGN Society Special Interest Group. The meeting took place at CentraleSupélec in Paris where I have presented our work conducted at the G-SCOP lab of the University Grenoble Alpes, Grenoble INP in a strong collaboration with a leading MedTech industry.
Our work is entitled «Systems Engineering for MedTech: a New Product Development process for drug-device Combination Products», and is based upon a few steady trends. One of those trends is a growing life expectancy across the globe. A personalized medicine, accompanied with an advanced drug delivery systems is one of the core solutions to that trend. Another trend is the shift in mindset caused by the pandemic. The pandemic has shown a great potential of fastened vaccine and MedTech products approvals. All of those trends pave the way to a healthcare which will improve the quality of life across the global population. In our presentation we have empathized the role of holistic, systems approach to tackle those challenges for the Combination Products development. The Design Process for those complex products involves few closely cooperating industries such as MedTech and Pharmaceutical ones. The opportunity for a talented graduate who will be writing the Master's Thesis in France. Feel free to apply or to recommend this internship to whoever might be interested in it. Many thanks to everyone who supported me and was nearby on the globe during these years! On the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science - a remarkable event at the Residence of the U.S. Ambassador in Moscow. Had a nice chat with the United States Ambassador to Russia John J. Sullivan, and listened to a wonderful space experience by NASA Astronaut Dr. Anna Fisher. Thank you very much for the invitation to this fantastic event!
